The Water Authority of Fiji has postponed planned maintenance work originally set for this weekend, which could have led to temporary water service disruptions for residents in the Suva-Nausori area.
In a recent announcement, the authority indicated that further assessments of the worksite uncovered additional risks that must be addressed prior to commencing any on-site activities to ensure worker safety.
These identified risks could potentially cause delays in the project if not managed appropriately.
As a result, the connection work for the Viria Water Supply to the Waila Water Treatment Plant is now scheduled to take place next Friday.
Additionally, the Water Authority plans to conduct maintenance work next month, from October 4 to October 6.
Customers are being urged to prepare by storing an adequate supply of water for use during this period.
