The Water Authority of Fiji has postponed planned works that were set to take place this weekend, which could have caused temporary water interruptions for residents in the Suva-Nausori corridor. In a statement, WAF explained that assessments of the worksite have uncovered additional risks that must be addressed prior to the commencement of any on-site work to ensure worker safety. WAF indicated that these risks could lead to delays if not managed in advance. The connection work for the Viria Water Supply to the Waila Water Treatment Plant will now proceed next Friday. Additionally, WAF plans to conduct maintenance work next month, from October 4 to October 6. The authority is urging customers to prepare by storing enough water for this period.
