The Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) has reported a sudden water disruption affecting customers connected to the Viria System due to a burst DN250 mainline. This issue is particularly impacting residents and businesses in several areas, including Viria X-Connection, Princes Road (from Vijendra Junction to ACS Junction), Sawani Junction to Bridge, Koroi Road, Adi Cakobau School (ACS), and Sawani Village.
WAF teams are currently working to assess the damage and determine the overall impact on the water supply. In the meantime, water carting trucks are on standby to assist the affected communities.
The authority is encouraging residents to store enough water for essential use and to conserve water whenever possible during this service disruption. A spokesperson for WAF expressed appreciation for the public’s understanding and cooperation while teams work towards a swift resolution.

This situation underlines the importance of maintaining water infrastructure and the need for communities to prepare for such disruptions. With the timely response from WAF and the availability of water carting trucks, residents can remain hopeful for a quick restoration of services.
