The Water Authority of Fiji is alerting customers in areas typically affected by high turbidity at the Tamavua Water Treatment Plant to brace for possible disruptions in their water supply. The ongoing heavy rainfall is likely to degrade water quality in the source streams, presenting challenges for water treatment and production.

As a consequence, water production at the Tamavua facility may be reduced. The areas that could be impacted include Mika Drue Place, Pathik Crescent, Mead Road, Volavola Road, Evetts Place, Top Shop Road, and elevated spots along Lakha Singh Road, such as Sakoca Road. Additionally, elevated regions along Tacirua Road, including Raibevu Road and Tacirua Heights, as well as MH Superfresh, Upper Mead Road, and several other locations in Lami Village could experience interruptions.

The WAF is closely monitoring the situation and is committed to working tirelessly to manage production levels and mitigate the effects on the water supply.

In summary, while service disruptions are anticipated due to adverse weather conditions, the proactive measures taken by the Water Authority aim to minimize inconvenience for residents. This situation highlights the importance of community preparedness and the need for authorities to remain vigilant during heavy rainfall periods.
