Water Supply Disruptions Ahead: Are You Ready?

Residents in Suva are advised to prepare for water supply disruptions this weekend as the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) carries out important maintenance work. The cuts will occur while a new DN600 line valve is being installed for the Nasinu Reservoir inlet. This project is part of WAF’s ongoing commitment to enhance the reliability and efficiency of water supply in the Nasinu area.

The planned maintenance will require temporarily closing the DN600 line valve that feeds both the Nasinu and Flagstaff Reservoirs, impacting several neighborhoods. The affected areas include Kinoya, Laucala Beach, Vatuwaqa, Raiwasa, Raiwaqa, Raiwai, Caubati, and Lower Cunningham as part of the Nasinu Reservoir supply. In addition, the Flagstaff Reservoir supply will affect Fletcher Road, Grantham Road, the Laucala Bay Area, Vesi Street, Domain, Queen Elizabeth Drive, and the Suva CBD.

This proactive approach by WAF is aimed at improving water supply services, ultimately benefiting the community in the long run. Residents are encouraged to make arrangements for their water needs during this period.

It’s a valuable opportunity for the community to adapt by storing water in advance and showing resilience in the face of temporary inconveniences. By supporting these essential upgrades, residents can look forward to improved water services that will serve the area better in the future.
