The Water Authority of Fiji has announced that residents in the Suva-Nausori corridor should store adequate water supplies as maintenance work is scheduled from this Friday to Sunday. This essential work is expected to cause temporary water disruptions.

The Authority revealed that an ongoing assessment of the worksite has identified additional risks that must be addressed prior to starting the project, ensuring the safety of the workers involved. These risks might cause delays if not properly managed in advance.

Residents are being advised to prepare by storing enough water to sustain them during the planned shutdown. The maintenance work is crucial for connecting a new DN900mm Gravity Main from the Waitolu Reservoir to the existing DN600mm DICL Rising Main supplying the Wainibuku Reservoir.

The affected areas will include zones reliant on the Wainibuku Reservoir as well as other linked reservoirs such as Tovata, Nagatugatu, Tacirua, Dokanaisuva, Coloisuva, Kalabu, Nasinu, and Flagstaff.
