The Water Authority of Fiji has advised residents along the Suva-Nausori corridor to store sufficient water in anticipation of maintenance work scheduled from this Friday to Sunday, which will cause temporary water disruptions.

The Authority stated that ongoing evaluations of the worksite have uncovered additional risks that must be addressed prior to starting the maintenance to ensure worker safety. These risks could potentially delay the project if not effectively managed beforehand.

Residents are encouraged to prepare by collecting enough water to see them through the disruption period.

The upcoming maintenance is necessary for essential connection work to install a new DN900mm Gravity Main running from the Waitolu Reservoir to the existing DN600mm DICL Rising Main that supplies the Wainibuku Reservoir.

The affected areas will include those served by the Wainibuku Reservoir, alongside other related reservoirs such as Tovata, Nagatugatu, Tacirua, Dokanaisuva, Coloisuva, Kalabu, Nasinu, and Flagstaff.
