Residents of Nasinu and Flagstaff have been urged to store water in preparation for upcoming rectification works scheduled at the Nasinu reservoir inlet next weekend. The Water Authority of Fiji announced that these essential bulk line rectification efforts will include the installation of a new DN600 line valve for the Nasinu reservoir inlet.
The authority emphasized that these works are crucial for enhancing the reliability and efficiency of water supply systems in the Nasinu region. The installation process will require closure of both the DN600 line valve that supplies the Nasinu reservoir and the one that feeds the Flagstaff reservoir. Consequently, customers relying on water from both reservoirs may experience interruptions.
The scheduled work will take place from January 18 to January 19, impacting several areas including Kinoya, Laucala Beach, Vatuwaqa, Raiwasa, Raiwaqa, Raiwai, Caubati, lower Cunningham, Fletcher Rd, Grantham Rd, Laucala Bay, Vesi Street, Domain, Queen Elizabeth Drive, and the Suva central business district.
This ongoing investment in water infrastructure signifies a commitment to providing better services for residents, and highlights the importance of community cooperation during such maintenance activities. By storing water in advance, residents can minimize inconvenience and ensure their daily needs are met during the rectification process.
