In an interview, Wasasala expressed his determination to succeed with the decisive penalty kick, aiming to redeem himself after a missed penalty in the semi-finals. He stated, “I was convinced it would go in, as I wanted to restore my reputation.” He emphasized the importance of resilience throughout the tournament and informed his teammates that he would take the fifth penalty to secure the win, dedicating the triumph to Labasa’s supporters.
