The TEMC Warriors team has been busy preparing for the Mick’s Fiji Tours & Transfers Vatulele 7s tournament, which kicked off yesterday at the Vatulele District School grounds. Coach Semi Kunatani, famously known as “The Beast,” shared insights into their preparations, revealing that the team had just finished competing in the Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s Carnival in Taveuni, a four-day event before heading to Vatulele.
Kunatani highlighted the team’s logistical challenges, noting that they had only one day of training before traveling. The lack of time for rest after their previous tournament posed a hurdle, but he emphasized that this should not be used as an excuse. The added challenge of players living far apart from each other made it difficult to train and prepare collectively.
Looking ahead, Kunatani expressed optimism, revealing plans for the team to participate in the next leg of the Fiji Bitter 7s series in Vanua Levu early next year. This forward-thinking approach reflects the team’s commitment and determination to continue competing at a high level.
This story serves as a reminder of the dedication and resilience required in sports, particularly when teams face tight schedules and logistical challenges. The TEMC Warriors’ efforts to overcome these hurdles highlight their passion for the sport and their aspirations for future tournaments.
