The TEMC Warriors are gearing up for the two-day Vatulele 7s tournament, which kicked off yesterday at the Vatulele District School grounds. With just a week to prepare, team coach Semi Kunatani, known as “The Beast,” shared insights into their preparations and challenges.
After a long four-day outing at the Fiji Bitter Wairiki 7s Carnival in Wairiki, Taveuni, the team returned with just a brief day of practice before heading to Vatulele. Kunatani expressed that while the quick turnaround posed difficulties—such as insufficient rest and the geographical distance between players’ homes—these challenges were not used as excuses. He emphasized the importance of team unity and preparation despite these obstacles.
Looking ahead, Kunatani indicated that the team plans to participate in the next leg of the Fiji Bitter 7s series in Vanua Levu early next year, showing their commitment to continuous improvement and competition.
Overall, the TEMC Warriors’ determination to compete despite the challenges they face is commendable. Their resilience not only speaks to their passion for the sport but also sets a positive example for teamwork and preparation in athletics. With their upcoming participation in additional tournaments, there remains great potential for growth and success on the field.
