Lautoka had a thrilling victory over the Manukau All Stars, winning 4-2 in the final match of the first day of the Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup at Churchill Park. Lanky striker Saula Waqa showcased his exceptional talent by scoring a hat-trick, finding the net twice in rapid succession within the 12th and 15th minutes.
The momentum continued for Lautoka as left-back Sakaraia Naisua extended their lead in the 22nd minute. Although Garbhan Coughlan managed to score for Manukau shortly after, Lautoka entered halftime with a comfortable 3-1 advantage. Waqa sealed his impressive performance with a third goal in the 38th minute, further solidifying Lautoka’s position. Coughlan added another goal for Manukau in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide.
Looking ahead, Lautoka will face Navua in their next match at 8:15 PM tomorrow, while the Manukau All Stars are set to play against the AuFFI All Stars at 7 PM.
