In an exciting opening match of the Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup at Churchill Park, Lautoka’s Saula Waqa showcased his scoring prowess by securing a hat-trick in a 4-2 victory against the Manukau All Stars. Waqa set the tone early, netting goals in the 12th and 15th minutes of the game.
Further extending Lautoka’s lead, left-back Sakaraia Naisua scored in the 22nd minute. Despite the early setback, Manukau responded with Garbhan Coughlan finding the back of the net, bringing the score to 3-1 at halftime. Waqa continued his impressive performance by completing his hat-trick in the 38th minute. Coughlan later added a second goal for Manukau in the 58th minute, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
Looking ahead, Lautoka will take on Navua in their second match at 8:15 PM tomorrow, while the Manukau All Stars are set to face the AuFFI All Stars at 7 PM.
