Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica announced that the findings from the investigation of Walesi PTE Limited by the Office of the Auditor-General are set to be made public this week.
In an interview with FijiLive, Kamikamica explained that once the report is received, it will be reviewed by the Cabinet before being presented in Parliament for further discussion. He mentioned that the next steps would depend on the report’s findings, which may include a referral to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption if necessary.
Kamikamica also highlighted that since 2015, a significant investment of $125.6 million has been dedicated to the establishment and rollout of the satellite digital television platform.
This development is a crucial step towards ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of public funds, and it reflects the government’s commitment to integrity in its operations.
