Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade Manoa Kamikamica has announced that the report regarding the investigation of Walesi PTE Limited by the Office of the Auditor-General is anticipated to be released this week. In an interview with FijiLive, Kamikamica mentioned that following its release, the report will be presented to the Cabinet for evaluation before being submitted to Parliament.

Kamikamica also noted that based on the findings of the report, it may be forwarded to the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption for further assessment. He highlighted that a significant investment of $125.6 million has been made in the establishment and rollout of the satellite digital television platform since 2015.

This investigation underscores the government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in its financial dealings. The forthcoming report will likely provide insights into the management of funds allocated to Walesi PTE Limited, potentially leading to improvements in governance and oversight.

In a time where public scrutiny of government spending is critical, this initiative signifies a proactive approach towards ensuring ethical practices and could foster a greater trust between the government and the citizens it serves.
