Waisale Serevi Thanks Fans as He Recovers from Cardiac Treatment

Waisale Serevi, the legendary 7s rugby player, is making a strong recovery following cardiac treatment in India. In a recent social media update, Serevi expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, along with his family and friends, for their support and prayers during his health issues.

He stated, “I feel much better and stronger now and looking forward to finishing the year strong.” Serevi also reflected on his faith, sharing, “Phil4:13 Grateful to God Almighty for all His guidance and protection on my life and family.”

The health concerns began last week when Serevi experienced pain in his right back and chest for two days, prompting him to seek medical attention. Following a recommendation from the president of India Rugby, he underwent a full medical examination, which included tests on his heart, kidneys, lungs, and blood. Fortunately, all results returned negative, and he did not require any surgery.

Serevi reiterated his appreciation for Prime Minister Rabuka and everyone who supported him during this time. Earlier reports from Manipal Hospital indicated that a coronary angiogram showed minor coronary artery disease, but Serevi’s condition was stable enough for him to be moved from the ICU by Wednesday.
