Waidamudamu Golf Group Tees Off the New Year with Charity and Camaraderie

The Waidamudamu Golf Group kicked off the New Year by gathering at the Fiji Golf Club in Vatuwaqa, Suva, for a day filled with golf and camaraderie. Members enjoyed a light-hearted round of golf while celebrating the arrival of 2024.

Among the attendees were notable figures such as Speaker of Parliament Filimone Jitoko and Indonesian Ambassador Dupito Simamora. Group president Sai Tokalau highlighted that some members were unable to join this festive outing, but the spirit of togetherness prevailed.

Reflecting on the previous year, Tokalau emphasized the group’s commitment to charity, sharing that they have been actively involved in philanthropic efforts for the last 30 years. He mentioned that their charitable contributions last year supported Dilkusha (Home), the Homes of Hope, and the Chevalier Boys Hostel. “Our initiative was good; the direction was right, and we hope to double our efforts this year,” Tokalau stated.

The Waidamudamu Group prides itself on its diverse membership, which includes individuals from various backgrounds and prominent positions in society, including government officials and ambassadors. Tokalau remarked on the group’s inclusive nature, noting their wide-ranging representation.

Although no golf tournaments are scheduled until next month, the group’s New Year gathering sets a positive tone for their upcoming activities and continued commitment to charitable work.
