A prominent getaway in Labasa, Vuo Holiday Homes, has expanded its service offerings to respond to the increasing demand for accommodation in the region. Originally consisting of four villas, the establishment has recently added seven new rooms within just two months, boosting its total capacity.
Managing Director Jiten Chand explains that this expansion is designed not only to drive business growth but also to create new job opportunities within Labasa. The facility is particularly vital during national events hosted in the Northern Division when the need for accommodations peaks.
Chand detailed the various booking options now available, stating, “Now we’ve got 11 accommodations in the two villa-holding homes… including single rooms, deluxe rooms with double and single beds, as well as rooms equipped with kitchens.”
Further plans for Vuo Holiday Homes include the creation of an event space capable of hosting larger gatherings, which aims to fill an evident gap in community needs. This planned marquee will accommodate between 300 to 350 people, offering a comfortable venue for local events.
Acknowledgment for this initiative comes from Labasa Special Administrator Samuela Ligairi, who expressed support for Vuo Holiday Homes’ contributions to elevating the area’s hospitality infrastructure.
This development comes at a time when Labasa is experiencing a surge in investments aimed at enhancing its tourism and hospitality sector. Similar initiatives, like the construction of the Vualiku Hotel, are underway to address the area’s accommodation shortages and promote local economic growth. With these ongoing projects, the future looks promising for Labasa, as they are set to provide numerous employment opportunities and attract more visitors to this beautiful region.
