Vuate Karawalevu Takes the Leap to Fijian Drua!

Vuate Karawalevu, the fullback for FIJI Water Flying Fijians, has officially signed a full-time contract with the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua for the upcoming 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season. The Fijian Drua confirmed this announcement, highlighting Karawalevu’s dedication to his home team.

Feeling thrilled and honored, Karawalevu expressed his excitement about joining the Fijian Drua. He views this opportunity as a chance to represent his roots and is eager to showcase his skills on the field.

The 23-year-old player recently made his international debut for the Flying Fijians in a match against Samoa during the Asahi Dry Pacific Nations Cup, where he scored a try. “I feel incredibly excited and blessed to join this new club. It’s an honor to play for my home team, and I can’t wait to give it my all on the field,” Karawalevu remarked. “I’m ready for this new chapter and grateful for the opportunity to represent where I come from.”

Previously, Karawalevu attended Marist Brothers High School and was part of the Kaiviti Silktails team competing in the Ron Massey Cup before moving to the North Sydney Bears in the NSW Cup.

In other news, the Flying Fijians are set to face Tonga next Friday at Teufaiva Park in Nuku’alofa. A victory against Tonga will secure a spot for the Flying Fijians in the semi-final of the competition. Last night, Samoa defeated Tonga 43-17 at Apia Park, leading 17-0 at halftime.
