Vodafone Fiji has raised and donated $10,000 to the Fiji Cancer Society (FCS), a contribution stemming from its Pinktober and Movember initiatives conducted during October and November. The funds aim to support the Society’s persistent efforts in enhancing cancer awareness, prevention, and treatment in the country.

The handover ceremony took place at the FCS headquarters in Suva last Tuesday, attended by representatives from both Vodafone Fiji and the Fiji Cancer Society. Moureen Chand, Vodafone Fiji’s Chief Human Resources Officer, expressed the company’s privilege in supporting the FCS’s mission to fight cancer and provide crucial assistance to those affected. She highlighted that the Pinktober and Movember campaigns illustrated the significant impact that can arise from collaboration between communities and corporations.

Belinda Chan, the CEO of FCS, conveyed her gratitude for the “generous” donation, emphasizing its vital role in the organization’s goal to aid individuals touched by cancer in Fiji. She noted that such partnerships are essential in ensuring that nobody faces their cancer battle alone.

Vodafone Fiji’s engagement in these campaigns reflects its commitment to corporate social responsibility, showcasing their intention to foster a healthier community and drive positive societal change.

In summary, Vodafone Fiji’s donation serves not only as financial support but as a beacon of hope and solidarity for the cancer-affected individuals in Fiji. Through community and corporate collaboration, positive strides can be made in the fight against cancer.
