Vodafone Fijiana XV Prepares to Face Wallaroos in Women’s Rugby Battle

The Vodafone Fijiana XV is gearing up for their match against the Wallaroos at Allianz Stadium in Sydney this Saturday. Head coach Mosese Rauluni emphasized the importance of being in top form to face the fifth-ranked women’s rugby team.

“The players have been training well and have shown significant improvement since the Japan game, but the true test will be against the Wallaroos on Saturday,” Rauluni stated. “Despite their losses in previous test matches, the Wallaroos remain a formidable team.”

Rauluni acknowledged the challenge of playing the Wallaroos on their home ground. “We are playing away in different conditions, which will be much colder compared to our last visit to Australia,” he noted. “We cannot underestimate the Wallaroos; we need to be at our best.”

Focusing on strategy, Rauluni mentioned the importance of fast ball delivery and utilizing the backline effectively. “Defending against the Wallaroos’ varied attacking formations and shapes will be crucial,” he added.

Rauluni hopes for strong support from the Fijian community in Sydney. “It was beneficial to complete our contact sessions in Fiji before heading to Sydney,” he said. “We’ll focus on getting the basics right and preparing thoroughly for Saturday.”

The match is set to kick off at 6:45 pm.
