The Vodafone Fijiana XV team is set and ready for their match against the Wallaroos at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney this Saturday.
Head coach Mosese Rauluni emphasized the need for his team to be in top form when facing the fifth-ranked team in women’s rugby.
“The players have been training well and have shown significant improvement since the Japan game, but we will truly see how far we’ve come when we face the Wallaroos on Saturday,” Rauluni said.
He acknowledged the resilience of the Wallaroos, despite their current losing streak in test matches.
Rauluni also noted the challenges of playing on foreign soil, particularly in colder conditions than the last time they were in Australia.
“We are playing away, and it’s going to be a lot colder compared to our last visit to Australia,” he said. “We can’t take the Wallaroos lightly and must be at our best.”
Rauluni aims to capitalize on the team’s backline through quick ball deliveries and emphasized the importance of strong defense against the Wallaroos’ various attacking formations.
He expressed hope for strong support from the Fijian community in Sydney during the match.
“It was beneficial to have our contact session here in Fiji before heading to Sydney,” Rauluni said. “We plan to focus on executing the basics right and preparing well for Saturday.”
The match is scheduled to kick off at 6.45 p.m.
