Vodafone Fijiana XV Gears Up for Tough Encounter Against Wallaroos

The Vodafone Fijiana XV side is gearing up for their match against the Wallaroos at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney this Saturday.

Head coach Mosese Rauluni emphasized the importance of his team being in top form when facing the fifth-ranked team in women’s rugby.

“The players have been training well and they’ve improved significantly since the Japan game, but the real test will come on Saturday against the Wallaroos,” he noted.

Despite the Wallaroos’ recent losses in their test matches, Rauluni warned that they remain a formidable opponent.

Rauluni highlighted the challenges of playing on the Wallaroos’ home turf, noting the different conditions and colder climate compared to their last visit to Australia.

“We can’t take them lightly; we have to be at our best,” he stressed.

He mentioned plans to capitalize on their backline with quick ball distribution and the need for strong defense against the Wallaroos’ varied attack formations.

Rauluni is hopeful for substantial support from the Fijian community in Sydney and looks forward to seeing fans in the stands.

“Getting our contact session done in Fiji and then moving to Sydney has been great,” he said. “We’ll focus on doing the basics right and prepare thoroughly for Saturday.”

The match is scheduled to kick off at 6.45pm.
