Vodafone Fiji has addressed a recent outage that impacted its eTransport Bus Card top-up point-of-sale (POS) infrastructure, which occurred late yesterday. This disruption affected numerous customers who rely on the POS terminals for topping up their bus cards.

The company stated that the issue was specifically linked to network connectivity problems affecting the terminals used by top-up agents. Fortunately, Vodafone Fiji confirmed that the disruption was resolved by yesterday evening, and all services have been fully restored and are now operating normally.

To enhance service reliability, Vodafone has implemented immediate measures allowing for offline top-up services via EFTPOS terminals. This new feature enables agent transactions without requiring an internet connection. The company is also launching a nationwide communication and training program aimed at educating top-up agents on this offline capability, ensuring they can effectively assist customers whenever necessary.

In addition to addressing the immediate issue, Vodafone Fiji is taking further steps to prevent future disruptions by upgrading its critical infrastructure and establishing redundancies throughout its POS systems.

This proactive approach reflects Vodafone’s commitment to customer service and operational excellence. The company is not only working to enhance the current user experience but is also preparing for increased reliability and convenience in the future. These improvements could significantly benefit commuters and instill confidence in Vodafone’s service continuity.
