The Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation is set to enhance healthcare services in Rakiraki with a generous donation of $25,000 for constructing an ambulance bay and upgrading the hospital’s entrance. This funding was recently presented to the hospital’s Board of Visitors, marking a significant contribution to improving patient care and accessibility.

In a social media post, the Foundation emphasized the impact of this initiative, stating, “This act of kindness will bring hope and crucial care to countless patients being transported to the hospital or transferred for further treatment.” The chairman of the Board of Visitors, Sanmogam Gounder, expressed gratitude for the financial assistance, noting that the improvements will provide greater convenience for ambulance services and patients alike. He remarked that the extended entrance will offer necessary protection from the elements for those arriving and departing.

Construction is set to begin soon, promising to bring about a much-needed upgrade to the hospital’s facilities, which will benefit the local community by ensuring quicker and safer access to healthcare.

This initiative echoes the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation’s ongoing commitment to enhancing community welfare, similar to its previous donations aimed at disaster response. In recent months, the Foundation committed $20,000 to assist recovery efforts in Vanuatu after a devastating earthquake, showcasing its broader vision for regional support and resilience in times of crisis.

Overall, the proactive stance taken by the Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation in Rakiraki not only reflects its dedication to healthcare improvement but also uplifts the community’s spirit, promising better medical services and patient experiences in the future.
