Allegations of theft and sexual assault have arisen involving three crew members of Virgin Australia, who are currently staying at a hotel in Nadi. Acting Commissioner of Police, Juki Fong Chew, confirmed that these incidents took place during a night out.

The crew members are currently isolated and are staying in their rooms at Hotel Tanoa. A management team from Virgin Australia is expected to arrive in Nadi tomorrow to conduct their own investigation into the matter. The families of the crew members are also making their way to Fiji amid the unfolding situation.

Mr. Chew stated that the police are actively investigating the case, emphasizing that the crew members are regarded as victims following their night out at a club. He assured that police are dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for both Fijians and visitors during the festive season and have urged everyone to look out for one another during this time.

This incident, while unfortunate, highlights the vigilance of local authorities in addressing situations that affect the safety of visitors, showcasing their commitment to maintaining a secure atmosphere as the festive season approaches.

It’s important to remain hopeful and positive, recognizing that community support and effective law enforcement can help ensure that such issues are addressed appropriately. The investigation may also lead to greater awareness and preventive measures to safeguard both locals and tourists.
