Nasinu Masters is preparing to face a formidable Vinz Works Rewa Masters team in the first semi-final of the RC Manubhai/Apco Coatings Veterans Tournament Over 45s today. They secured their place in the semi-finals by scoring four goals against My Suva Legends in their prior match.
Coach, player, and president Lawrence Robert emphasized the importance of the upcoming match. He acknowledged that the team initially struggled with finishing but has gained confidence following their recent victory. “We believe that we must come back firing and win,” Robert stated.
The team boasts several former district stars who will be essential in driving the team forward. Robert expressed confidence in his players, noting that they have a strong lineup with members like Jalindar Singh (Nasinu), Valero Nasemo (Ba), Mark Rokobulki (Lautoka), Itesh Singh, Binesh Kumar (Nasinu), and Akesh Narain (Navua), creating a diverse and competitive team.
In contrast, their opponents Rewa recently triumphed over Suva City Masters with a decisive 6-0 victory in their last group match. Coach Patrick Wise highlighted the strength of his team, featuring former district and national representatives.
Nasinu is set to face Rewa in the second semi-final at 9:30 am, following the first semi-final between JK Nadi and Lautoka Legends at 8:30 am. Both matches will take place at the Fiji Football Academy ground in Vatuwaqa. The final is scheduled to be held at the HFC Bank Stadium, serving as a precursor to the Battle of the Giants grand final.
