Veteran Soccer Showdown: Nasinu Masters vs. Rewa Masters

Nasinu Masters is gearing up for a tough match against Vinz Works Rewa Masters in the first semi-final of the RC Manubhai/Apco Coatings Veterans Tournament Over 45s. Nasinu secured their spot in the semi-finals by scoring four goals against My Suva Legends.

Coach, player, and president Lawrence Robert highlighted the importance of the upcoming match. He acknowledged that the team initially struggled with finishing but have found their rhythm after their recent victory. “We believe that tomorrow we must come back firing and win,” said Robert.

The Nasinu team is bolstered by former district stars such as Jalindar Singh (Nasinu), Valero Nasemo (Ba), Mark Rokobulki (Lautoka), Itesh Singh, Binesh Kumar (Nasinu), and Akesh Narain (Navua), which gives them confidence heading into the match.

Their opponents, Rewa, showed their strength by defeating Suva City Masters 6-0 in their final group match. Rewa coach Patrick Wise expressed confidence in his team, noting the presence of former district and national representatives who aim to take Rewa to the finals.

Nasinu and Rewa will face off in the second semi-final at 9.30 am. The first semi-final between JK Nadi and Lutoka Legends will take place at 8.30 am, with both matches being held at the Fiji Football Academy ground in Vatuwaqa.

The final will be played at the HFC Bank Stadium as a curtain raiser to the Battle of the Giants grand final.
