Veteran Rewa player Samuela Kautoga is set to return to national duties for the Tri-Nations FIFA International Friendlies hosted in Fiji this September.

The 37-year-old, who retired from international football in 2017 after helping Rewa clinch the Battle of the Giants tournament, has been recalled due to his outstanding form with the Delta Tigers. Kautoga’s notable performances include scoring decisive goals in the OFC Champions League and a brace in Rewa’s recent 5-0 victory over Ba during the group stages of the Rooster Chicken/Scoops Ice-Cream Battle of the Giants in Suva.

Also included in the 26-member squad are Suva goalkeeper Akuila Mateisuva, Rewa’s Patrick Joseph, Navua’s Rahul Krishna, Labasa’s Melvin Mani, Lautoka’s Muni Shivam Naidu, and New Zealand-based striker James Hoyt.

The team will begin training at the Fiji FA Ba Academy on August 18, with the final squad announcement scheduled for August 30.

The Digicel Bula Boys will compete against the Solomon Islands national team on September 2 at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva and will face the Hong Kong-China national team on September 8 at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
