Ni Vanuatu boxers Roy Ser and Wasing Warawara will arrive in the country next Wednesday. Fred Chand, the promoter from South Pacific Boxing Promotions, stated that the boxers will take a connecting flight to Labasa in preparation for the promotion scheduled for Saturday, August 10.
“The boxers wanted to reach Labasa quickly to acclimatize to the local weather conditions,” Chand explained.
In the main event, Ser will face Fiji’s super welterweight and IBO Asia Pacific title holder Winston Hill in a 10-round match that promises excitement, as both fighters come with significant amateur experience prior to turning professional. Hill has previously secured a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham, England, while Ser won a gold medal at the 2017 Pacific Mini Games in Port Vila during his training period in China. Ser has notable victories, including a knockout against Rakuro Dauvavana in the second round and another win over Saimoni Ratu.
Warawara will compete in a supporting match against the promising Frederick Chand from Nadi’s Seaside Boxing Club. The official weigh-in for the promotion is set for next Friday in Labasa.
