A devastating late-night fire has completely engulfed a family home on Valemasima Road in Votualevu, Nadi, resulting in the tragic deaths of two elderly occupants. The incident was reported around midnight and quickly escalated, leading to the total destruction of the property.
The house, which was a four-bedroom structure made of concrete and tin, was home to five occupants at the time. Unfortunately, the two victims, who were elderly parents of the homeowner, were unable to escape the flames.
Authorities, including the police and the National Fire Authority (NFA), are currently conducting investigations to determine the cause of the fire. This unfortunate incident highlights the importance of fire safety measures and the need for prompt response capabilities in emergencies.
