Residents of Valelevu are expressing optimism as the Ministry of Health has announced plans to upgrade the Valelevu Health Centre, recognized as one of the most overcrowded clinics in urban Fiji.

Minister for Health and Medical Services, Dr. Ratu Atonio Lalabalavu, addressed these issues in Parliament, noting that the upgrade falls under the Pacific Healthy Islands Transformation (PHIT) initiative. Dr. Lalabalavu acknowledged that the Valelevu Health Centre suffers from significant congestion and outdated infrastructure. The planned renovations will involve constructing a new building, improving water and sanitation facilities, and incorporating climate-resilient designs.
