The USP Suva under 20 rugby team started their campaign in the Fiji University Games by defeating FNU West with a score of 10-7 at the USP grounds in Suva. The home team took the lead with tries from John Waqabaca and captain Matia Daoro.
After the match, Daoro reflected on the challenges faced during the intense game, highlighting the impressive performance of both sides. He noted, “The first half was very difficult; I simply told the boys to man up and play our very best.”
In the second half, Daoro emphasized the importance of communication among the players, urging the forwards to collaborate effectively to execute their game plan and secure the victory. He stated, “The main thing for us as we move forward is communication from within. We needed to work on our defence for the matches ahead.”
