USA Rugby team coach Scott Lawrence has made seven personnel changes and one positional adjustment ahead of the team’s first match against the Flying Fijians in a decade.
Toby Fricker is set to make his debut for the US Men’s Eagles as he has been chosen to play full-back in the semifinal match against the Flying Fijians in Tokyo tomorrow.
Notably absent from the matchday 23 are standout players, fly-half Luke Cary and No.8 Jamason Schultz.
Greg Peterson is the only player in the squad who participated in the last encounter with Fiji, which took place in Vannes in November 2014, where the Eagles suffered a 20-14 defeat. However, the experienced lock will start on the bench for this match.
Peterson, who was born in Australia, led the Eagles in their initial two matches during the Pacific Nations Cup, but Nate Augspurger has taken over the captaincy role.
Coach Lawrence has emphasized the team’s need for consistency and improved performance in their upcoming match.
The USA will take on the Flying Fijians at 10:05 PM tomorrow in Japan.
