The USA Island Boys, coached by Gurjit Singh, have advanced to the semifinal of the Over 40s grade at the Rams Group of Companies 10th Sanatan World Cup in Sydney. The team secured their place by defeating Labasa 2-1 in the quarterfinal match today.
Labasa took the lead with a goal from Deepak Chand, ending the first half at 1-0. However, the Island Boys mounted a strong comeback in the second half, with Viren Singh equalizing the score before Lawrence Dutt clinched the victory with a well-placed strike.
