The USA Island Boys are set to make their inaugural appearance in the Rams Group of Companies 10th Sanatan World Cup, which kicks off in Sydney tomorrow.

Under the guidance of renowned coach Gurjit Singh, the team will participate in the Over 40s category. Managed by Ashnil and Rajneel Prasad, the Island Boys, established just last year, have already achieved significant success, winning multiple soccer tournaments in the Bay Area, California. This year, they have distinguished themselves by clinching titles in all major tournaments, including the NAFSA tournament where they faced off against leading American and Canadian clubs.

In a statement to FijiLive, Coach Singh expressed the players’ enthusiasm and commitment to perform at their best during the World Cup. “We are going to give our best at this tournament and demonstrate good sportsmanship as we represent the USA,” he said.

The team’s lineup features former Nasinu players Rup Edward and Virend Singh leading the charge, alongside former USA All Stars goalkeeper Kevin Dip and Lawrence Dutt. To bolster their experience, former Tailevu Naitasiri players Sudeshwar Ram, Nitan Kumar, and Shiva Goundar will join the squad as guest players. The Island Boys will commence their campaign at 7 pm tomorrow against Lautoka Sanatan.
