Gurjit Singh’s coached USA Island Boys have secured a spot in the semifinals of the Over 40s category at the Rams Group of Companies 10th Sanatan World Cup in Sydney. The team triumphed over Labasa with a score of 2-1 in the quarterfinal match held today.
Labasa took the lead first, with a goal from Deepak Chand coming before halftime. However, the Island Boys staged a robust comeback, equalizing the score when Viren Singh found the net midway through the second half. Lawrence Dutt then clinched the victory for the Island Boys with a well-placed strike.
