The USA All Stars have become the first team to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup following a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Extra Supermarket Rewa FC in their final Group B match held at Churchill Park in Lautoka yesterday.

The turning point of the match was a remarkable 40-meter strike by Donevan Lescott, which gave the USA All Stars the winning goal in the first half. Rewa FC had an opportunity to take the lead earlier on, but their hopes were dashed when Tevita Warainivalu failed to convert a penalty in the 17th minute, a miss that became pivotal for their outcome.

Imone Mohanta, the head coach of USA All Stars, expressed pride in his team’s performance and their determination to win the tournament. “We are here to win this tournament and take home the cup,” he stated, reflecting on their progress. “It was a slow start in our first game because we were jet-lagged and slow in our formation, but we came back stronger in the second and third games, improving each time.”

With aspirations for the championship clearly in sight, the USA All Stars are positioned as formidable contenders as they advance to the semi-finals.

This victory not only highlights the team’s resilience and improvement throughout the tournament but also sets a positive tone as they prepare for the challenges ahead. The All Stars’ determination and growth can serve as an inspiration for other teams, showcasing the potential for success through hard work and perseverance.
