The USA All Stars arrived in Fiji today to begin preparations for the 2024 Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup, which will take place in Lautoka.

Gurjit Singh, the former national coach and current technical advisor for the team, highlighted that the players have not trained together prior to their arrival due to their scattered locations. The next few days will be dedicated to developing their team structure, game plan, and on-field combinations. Singh mentioned he is assisting Coach Imone Mohanta, who has been diligently selecting the best players for this tournament.

Reflecting on last year’s performance, Singh noted that the team had a strong showing in New Zealand, topping their pool but unfortunately falling short in the finals. He expressed optimism that the team can secure their first Pacific Cup title in Lautoka this year.

Singh, with his vast experience in previous Pacific Cups, emphasized the evolving competitiveness of the teams, attributing the improvement to the increased involvement of professional and semi-professional players. He encouraged Fijian spectators to anticipate an exciting tournament filled with high-level football from all participating teams.

The USA All Stars feature several notable players, including Dubai-based former Fiji U20 defender Peter Ravai and trialist Oliver McFadyen, along with guest players such as Javi Mariona and Anthony White, among others.

Their tournament schedule kicks off with a match against Labasa at 4:30 PM on Thursday, followed by contests against the NZFFI Auckland All Stars on Friday and Rewa on Saturday.

This year’s event promises to showcase remarkable talent and competitive spirit, making it an exciting opportunity for both players and fans alike to engage in a celebration of football.

Summary: The USA All Stars prepare for the 2024 Flick Hygiene Pacific Community Cup, focusing on team structure and strategy after arriving in Fiji. Former coach Gurjit Singh expresses hope for the team’s success following a strong previous performance. The tournament is set to feature notable players and is expected to deliver high-quality football, enhancing viewer anticipation.
