The United States government has contributed two bomb disposal vehicles and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) equipment to the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF). This donation was facilitated by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs and the Golden West Humanitarian Foundation. It is aimed at enhancing the operational capabilities of the RFMF Engineers Regiments in dealing with potential explosive threats.

Commander Land Forces Brigadier General Onisivoro Covunisaqa expressed that this donation symbolizes a significant milestone in the collaboration between the US and Fiji, particularly in improving EOD capabilities. He acknowledged the essential training provided by Golden West, which has been crucial in equipping Fijian personnel with the skills necessary for safely handling dangerous situations.
