Urgent Global Challenges: A Call for Collective Action

The global community faces unprecedented challenges such as poverty, violence, biodiversity decline, climate change, health crises, and developmental issues.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka shared these insights during the Forum Leaders Dialogue, which took place at the Tonga High School Indoor Stadium alongside the UN Secretary-General.

He emphasized that the diverse and urgent threats the world encounters today highlight significant changes in our environment. He argued that collective action is essential for addressing these challenges effectively.

Rabuka underscored the importance of robust international collaboration, diplomacy, and a commitment to upholding the principles of the United Nations.

In response, UN Secretary-General António Guterres reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to the Pacific Islands, assuring that all UN personnel in the region are dedicated to community-oriented and people-centered solutions.
