Opposition Member of Parliament Sanjay Kirpal is urging the Government to take swift action in delivering food rations to those impacted by recent flooding. Kirpal, representing the Nadi constituency, highlighted the dire situation faced by residents in Korovuto, Nawaka, and Vuniyasi as heavy rains have severely affected their lives.
In response to the disaster, he has organized a team of volunteers dedicated to assisting those in need. “We will be providing immediate grocery packages to offer some relief to those affected,” Kirpal stated. He emphasized the importance of delivering food and essential items to evacuation centers, particularly for families with small children.
Kirpal acknowledged the challenges authorities may face in delivering immediate relief supplies but stressed that a prompt response from the Government would be crucial in supporting citizens who suffered during the floods on Christmas Day.
