Newly inducted officers of the Fiji Police Narcotics Bureau were reminded to uphold ethical standards and police principles within their department.
During the induction ceremony, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Fisi Nasario, director of the Narcotics Bureau, emphasized that the bureau is a vulnerable department where values and principles are constantly tested.
“You will be tested as time goes on,” SSP Nasario said. “The principles, values, and ethics will be tested, and I urge you to consider what you are asked to do, who you are tasked to protect, and why you were selected among the rest.
“More than 90 percent of the population are law-abiding citizens who are concerned and willing to help.
“The Government and other institutions share the same concern and are also expressing their willingness to take action.
“Our foreign counterparts have been providing guidance, assistance, and support. Note that we are advancing and tailoring our strategies based on our resources and capabilities but will never give up.”
