The Fijian Drua has announced the release of a new book titled “The Rise of the Drua – How A Rugby Dream Captivated A Nation,” authored by well-known rugby commentator Greg Clark and experienced sports journalist Norman Tasker.
This book provides a comprehensive account of the club’s 25-year journey, tracing its origins during the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent ascent in the Super Rugby Pacific competition.
The narrative captures the team’s struggles, including efforts to relocate members and staff, culminating in their return to Fiji. It celebrates the resilience and commitment of all those associated with the club, from players and coaches to sponsors and fans, who are hailed as some of the finest globally.
In addition to recounting the Drua’s sporting milestones, the book delves into the passion and spirit fueling their achievements. It includes exclusive interviews, insights, and previously unseen photographs, offering a unique perspective on the team’s journey.
Set to be released on October 11th, the book will be available in various retail locations, priced at FJ$35 for the paperback edition and FJ$50 for the hardback edition.
