Unveiling the Heart of Fijian Rugby: A New Book Chronicles the Drua’s Journey

The Fijian Drua has unveiled a new book titled “The Rise of the Drua – How A Rugby Dream Captivated A Nation,” authored by notable rugby commentator Greg Clark and experienced sports journalist Norman Tasker.

This book narrates the story of the Club’s origin and development over the past 25 years, providing an in-depth look at its establishment during the COVID-19 pandemic and its growth in the Super Rugby Pacific league.

The narrative illustrates the team’s challenging path, including their relocation efforts and the eventual return of players and staff to Fiji.

It pays tribute to the resilience and commitment of all those associated with the team, from players and coaches to sponsors and loyal fans, who are celebrated as among the finest worldwide.

Beyond recounting the Drua’s sports accomplishments, the book delves into the passion and spirit that fueled their success.

The work includes exclusive interviews, insights, and behind-the-scenes anecdotes, paired with unique photographs that have not been published before.

The book is set to be released on October 11th and will be available at various retail locations, priced at FJ$35 for the paperback edition and FJ$50 for the hardback version.
