Unveiling the Heart and Soul of Fijian Rugby: “The Rise of the Drua”

The Fijian Drua has introduced a new book titled “The Rise of the Drua – How A Rugby Dream Captivated A Nation,” written by well-known rugby commentator Greg Clark and experienced sports journalist Norman Tasker. This book chronicles the history and development of the club over the past 25 years, focusing on its foundation during the COVID-19 pandemic and its subsequent rise in the Super Rugby Pacific competition.

The narrative highlights the tough journey of the Drua, including the team’s relocation efforts and their eventual return to Fiji. It pays tribute to the resilience and commitment of everyone involved, from players and coaches to sponsors and fans, who are celebrated for their unwavering support.

Beyond detailing the Drua’s sporting achievements, the book also captures the passion and spirit that fuel their success. It includes exclusive interviews, insights, and behind-the-scenes stories, along with unique photographs that have not been published before.

The book is set to release on October 11th and will be available at various retail locations, priced at FJ$35 for the paperback edition and FJ$50 for the hardback version.
