The Fijian Drua is making headlines again with the launch of a new book that details the club’s origins. Titled “The Rise of the Drua – How A Rugby Dream Captivated A Nation,” the book is penned by renowned rugby commentator Greg Clark and seasoned sports writer Norman Tasker, providing an in-depth look at the club’s inspiring journey that spans nearly 25 years.
This publication recounts the formation of the team amid the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and its trajectory in Super Rugby Pacific. It highlights the challenges faced both on and off the field by the club, players, and staff, detailing their relocations and eventual return to Fiji.
From its initial formation to its celebrated achievements, the book pays homage to the players, coaches, staff, sponsors, and dedicated fans who have collectively made the Drua one of the most beloved teams in a relatively short period.
The book reflects the passion, resilience, and pride that have characterized the team’s journey, featuring exclusive interviews, revealing insights, previously unseen photographs, and behind-the-scenes stories that enrich the narrative of the Drua.
