Unlocking the Spirit of Rugby: “The Rise of the Drua” Book Launches

The Fijian Drua has unveiled an engaging new book titled “The Rise of the Drua – How A Rugby Dream Captivated A Nation,” authored by well-known rugby commentator Greg Clark alongside seasoned sports writer Norman Tasker.

This publication chronicles the origins and growth of the club over the past quarter-century, exploring its formation during the COVID-19 pandemic and its impressive ascent in the Super Rugby Pacific league.

The book narrates the Drua’s difficult journey, emphasizing the relocation challenges faced by the team, players, and staff, culminating in their eventual return to Fiji. It pays tribute to the resilience and commitment of everyone connected to the team—from players and coaches to sponsors and fans, who are celebrated as some of the best in the world.

Moreover, this literary work not only highlights the Drua’s achievements on the field but also reveals the passion and spirit that fuel their success. It includes exclusive interviews, new insights, and behind-the-scenes stories, accompanied by rare photographs that have not been published before.

Set to be released on October 11th, the book will be accessible at various retail outlets, priced at FJ$35 for the paperback version and FJ$50 for the hardback edition.
