Unlocking Opportunities: Vanuabalavu Expo Impresses Finance Provider

The Vanuabalavu Expo held in Lomaloma, Lau, received praise from finance provider Merchant Finance Limited.

Sakiusa Boletawa, the company’s manager of the contact center, highlighted that the expo presented a promising market. “Vanuabalavu stands out because of the current performance of its businesses and their individual and community-oriented financial goals,” Boletawa remarked.

He noted a strong turnout, with many attendees inquiring about ways to expand their businesses through capital, loans, and investments. “We observed significant interest at this expo and will evaluate potential opportunities accordingly. We have financed a large number of vehicles here and see more opportunities to support outer island residents,” Boletawa added.

Boletawa also pointed out the healthy cash flow on Vanuabalavu Island and was impressed by the high level of financial literacy among its people. “We identified additional businesses we could support, particularly in MSMEs, and introduced our Marama and Vanua Finance initiatives aiming to assist women in this sector,” he said.

The company’s financing efforts on the island have primarily centered around the transportation sector, with numerous financings for trucks and twin cabs. Boletawa emphasized their aim to expand these efforts due to the promising financial records supporting investment interests on the island.

Additionally, Merchant Finance engaged with students from Adi Moapa Secondary School regarding potential career paths.

This coverage and advice come as part of Merchant Finance’s broader commitment to providing financial guidance and support in the region.
