Captain Lepani Vaniqi emphasized the critical role of communication in leadership during the graduation ceremony for the 2/24 Junior Staff Officers Course, held on October 4, 2024, at the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Nabua. He stated that effective communication is essential for inspiring and motivating teams, citing historical leaders who combined vision with strong communication skills to create a sense of shared purpose.
As the Chief Guest, Captain Vaniqi praised the Officers Training School staff for their hard work and dedication in ensuring a successful and professional training experience for the participants of this year’s course. He pointed out that communication is a two-way process and highlighted the significance of leaders actively listening to their teams’ feedback, which he believes fosters respect and acknowledges team members’ contributions.
In his conclusion, he remarked that communication transcends being a simple leadership tool, asserting that it is fundamental to effective leadership. He added that it enables leaders to inspire others, collaborate effectively, manage change, and build strong relationships.
